Nursing leaders in Pakistan, a nursing curriculum is begin developed that will establish
core competencies necessary to meet the primary goals of increasing capacity, establish
new standards, communication, assessment, critical thinking and innovative approaches,
while utilizing an advanced array
of technical skills. Interdisciplinary integrated curriculum is eventually aimed
to provide service to the Nursing and Midwifery, Medical, Dental, Pharma and Allied
Health Sciences colleges, the profession and the community.

In phase 1, College of Nursing and Midwifery (CONAM) is being established to commence
with Bachelor's (BScN) from 2010 which will not only produce quality nurses but also
develop faculty for Nursing and Midwifery program in the country which has already
commenced on June 5, 2009 as FDP, in Capacity Building Center at DHA.
The Capacity Building Center is the first functioning unit of NIHS which would be
working as a staff college for faculty development. This center will remain functioning
through out the life of the university which continues developing human resource
at the standards set by Harvard, to keep the university aligned with international
standards. This center’s role is vital to maintain quality and change management
to attract medical tourism and research
